Sick Children Got A Surprise Visit From The Police Puppies They Named!
Puppies loves are so special, their kisses and cuddles bring so much joy and love to everyone, especially to kids who are sick and confined in the hospital.
Here is a news story broadcast by SBS News Australia. This is a real highlight for sick kids at Westmead Children Hospital, NSW Police has given the kids an opportunity to name the newborn little of puppies.
This time, the kids were given the honor to name the pups, and they were challenged with starting the name with the letter ‘Y’. Before the puppies’ visit, the hospital was given a list of names from the Police Dog unit for the children to work on and choose from. The kids were so excited, their creative mind started to go to work. They have chosen some cute names like Yazza, Yoshi and short names like Yogi, Yap, Yoda, and Yoko.
Kids looked forward to the visit of these cute puppies, it was a special treat for them. The playfulness, cuteness, and joyfulness of the puppies can bring light on the day and break through the darkness for these sick children. All the kids were smiling, laughing and they really were perked up by these cute furry, four-legged visitors.
One of the Patrons of NSW Police Dog Unit said bringing the puppies to visit the children in hospital and the naming program has been a very rewarding and heartwarming tradition. It engaged the children, they got to participate in naming the pups and best of all, the kids got to meet these puppies and cuddle them.
Since 2004, Dog Unit’s at NSW Police run breeding schemes breeding various police help dogs like German Shepherd, Labradors, and English Spring Spaniels. Recently in February, the Police Dog unit welcomed their newest additions Belgian Malinois, these pups will stay at the police dog units till their about 10 to 12 weeks old. The puppies will then be raised and trained by specialized keepers to be trained as police help dogs in areas like general, investigation and detection purposes.
