Do You Know Much About Service Dog?
We all heard the saying “Dogs are human’s best friend, some even go so far as to say that dog makes our lives whole.” This is so true for our furry friend, Service Dogs. They are uniquely trained to help people with disabilities. Service dogs help their owners by carrying out chore they are not able to perform because of their disabilities. They are more than just helping individuals, they help to provide independence, self-esteem, emotional support and companionship.
Here, we like to share a heartwarming story captured by ABC News.
Special Moments When Kai The Boy Meets Tornado The Dog
The nonprofit organization, 4 Paws for Ability, offers services by placing a task-trained, quality service dog to enhance the lives of children with disabilities. ABC News shared a touching story of a mother, whose 5-year-old autistic son named Kai recently meets his new service dog, Tornado, and the first time they met, you can see Kai instinctively knew he has found his best buddy.
“Do you see that moment? The video captured the emotion of the first meeting and how the special relationship and bond were formed instantly. It’s as if Kai already knew that he loves Tornado before he met him.
Tornado was trained to be a service dog specializing in autism. Taught for example to guide Kai around danger or help him feels safe when he is agitated and to be loyal. A loyal friend Kai can share the world as he sees it, in a way that few could.
Why Mom Cried Emotionally When Kai Meets His Special Friend?
So, about that moment when 2 of them met, why Kai’s mom broke down and cried! Well, it’s started with the fact that Kai was diagnosed with autism at the age of four. For Kai autism has meant he has particular challenges when connecting with people, playing with other kids has not been easy, nor did conversation. But he did show a knack on a different kind of connection. Kai’s mum discovered when Kai goes to play at the playground, he seeks out interaction with dogs in particular instead of people where he finds harder at times.
She cried with joy when Kai was beamed with happiness the first time, he meets Tornado. Seeing him laid down relaxing and cuddling Tornado, and that relationship being reciprocated back to him was just breathtaking to her. The moment of love, connection and friendship all happened in the same instant. She realized Tornado could really perk up Kai’s grey days like he could fill Kai’s life with delights and wonders.
Now Kai and Tornado are inseparable friends, he seems so much more content and fulfilled. That is the kind of love a mom can only hope to find for her son!
