Christmas season is the jolliest season of the year. No matter how old one is, no matter their social statuses, no one can resist the cheerfulness of Christmas carols and colorful Christmas decorations.
Unlike the Grinch or Mr. Scrooge, most definitely wouldn’t turn down such a merry season.
They say that Christmas is for the children. As such, a lot of people do something extra special to make a child happy on Christmas day, even if it entails buying an expensive Christmas gift. However, for a senior dog, the most precious gift in the world can’t compare to his Christmas present.
What is it, mom?
Remember the good old days when you excitedly waiting by the door? One might expect a particular person to come in. And it seems this specific senior dog does the same.
One can see in the video how Cash, a Golden Retriever, excitedly waits by the door, waiting for it to open. It looks like Cash knows who’s behind the door, as he keeps on wagging his tail.
A few moments later, Cash’s fur dad comes in, carrying with him a big box wrapped in Christmas wrapper. Even before his fur dad places the box on the floor, Cash eagerly takes a sniff. What could be inside the box?
A puppy? Oh! You’ve given me a puppy?
The moment everyone’s waiting for is right around the corner, as Cash is about to unbox his Christmas present.
As soon as fur dad places the box on the floor, the pooch excitedly takes a few more sniffs. Probably he already had an idea of what’s inside it (with their incredible sense of smell). But, the priceless reaction Cash wore upon seeing his gift is better than the present itself.
Out of the box came a puppy! And it’s clear to see how Cash is ecstatic with his new friend. The dog happily wags his tail and even assumes a playing stance as he greets his new friend.
The reason behind Cash’s present is a sad reality.
Behind every happy ending is a story of struggle that one endured beforehand.
Cash was one happy Golden Retriever, living the best of his life with his sister, Rosie. Unfortunately, Rosie suddenly crossed over the rainbow bridge in 2014, bringing with her Cash’s enthusiastic energy.
Ever since Cash became a lonely pooch, who lost all his youthful vibe with his sister’s passing. Cash’s fur mom, Marie Ahonen, hated seeing her beloved pooch this way. Thus, she decided to give Cash a special Christmas surprise.
Take a look at how Cash warmly welcomes the new member of the Ahonen family in the video below.
