Julie LeRoy was checking a dispute between her neighbors when someone brought Cuda, the dog. They said that they were leaving the town. They were having gang problems, and they were looking for a place to dispose of the dog.

Julie has never seen anyone like Cuda. So, she decided to bring Cuda home with her. The little pooch looked nervous and didn’t understand what’s happening. The next morning, Julie brought Cuda to the vet to have her checked. When the doctor said that there was nothing wrong with her, Julie decided to adopt her.

Cuda’s new family was very much smitten with her. But all of them were afraid to get attached to her. They worry over the thought that they might lose her someday.

Later on, they found out that Cuda has short spine syndrome. Dogs with short spine syndrome have cowl neck and shortened jaw, which is exactly what Cuda looks like. She is a result of inbreeding and her previous owner just bought her from a backyard breeder.

Although Cuda looks very different, Julie found out that she is not in any kind of pain. She only finds it hard to scratch her rear end, which is the only problem with her. She acts just like any other dogs. She can even run faster than some dogs without disabilities. She just brushes off like a wind. She’s very active and playful!

Cuda had a lot of ups and downs. When she reached 18 months old, she was diagnosed with diabetes. Good thing, her family exactly knows how to handle her. They love her so much, and they are willing to take good care of her no matter what.

Because of that, Cuda is able to live a normal life despite everything that she’s been through. She even became a certified therapy dog a few months later. Cuda brings joy to everyone that she meets. She loves being with people. She’s very soulful.

Julie is delighted that they took a chance with her. They can’t even imagine life without Cuda. She’s the queen of the family.
