Olly, the Jack Russell terrier, joined the Crufts’ Rescue Dog Agility category in Birmingham. However, within the first few seconds from entering the arena, the adorable dog made it clear that he had other plans. He shook things up and did such a terrible yet remarkably cute performance.
Right off the bench, Olly showed everyone what a daredevil he was. On his first obstacle, he went for a nose dive and slipped a few meters across. While faceplanting isn’t something that a trainer would want from their dog in such a competition, Olly did it so well that it could get a 10/10 if it were a faceplanting competition alone.
Then after that epic faceplant, Olly immediately picked himself up. He then displayed some great energy and speed as he went right back on track. However, after going through a couple more obstacles, Olly decided that it’s best to just have fun and not go with the agility course’s script anymore.
Olly jumped through whatever he wanted and played around the arena as if it was his personal amusement park. He also took a few breaks to sniff around and explore the interesting corners of the perimeter.
Olly didn’t completely fail the test though. The little pooch did very well on the pipe tunnel. However, he seemed to miscalculate his footing on the weaving poles and hurdles. Olly also didn’t seem to care about the competition’s sequence. Karen, his trainer, tried to keep him on track but only ended up helplessly watching the playful little pooch.
While Olly proved to lack the control and organization that are needed to finish the contest successfully, he still proved to be great at something. He was such a charmer that he won over everyone’s, including the commentator’s heart. His nutty personality made him a winner in his own right.
