A beautiful, heart-warming story of a girl and her dog who walk through life together.
Here, we like to share Maya’s inspiring story. Maya has cerebral palsy; the family thought a dog will be good for her. So, when the family brought Abby home, she right away become Maya’s shadow. Maya couldn’t walk on her own, but Abby helped her get stronger every day.
Maya would start walking in her walker and Abby would always get up and follow behind her. It is like a security thing that Abby is always right next to her sister to make sure she is safe.
When Maya is doing her therapy, Abby will sit by her bench, Maya will sneak up to Abby and use Abby to push herself up so that she can stand up.
Abby has been such a good motivator, in some ways to encourage Maya to move too, and to get up and be active. When once Maya was ready to take her first steps, Abby was right by her side. Abby understands her sister so well because she was born a little different too. Abby was born without her right paw, but it has never slowed her down. Abby was going to be trained as a therapy dog, but everything changed when she met her perfect family. When the family found out that Abby had kind of a disability, they decided that was a good fit for the family.
Maya would always just lay down right next to Abby and talk to her like she was her little friend. Abby would give Maya lots of kisses. Maya trusts her dog sister so much and knows that she is always there for the little things. Maya and Abby have so much fun together, like Maya pretends that she is cooking Abby dinner, and Abby will play along, and she will eat it, that made Maya very happy. Maya also likes to play vet, darling Abby will sit and let Maya checks up on her. The pair are wonderful together and have incredible strong bond.
Maya and Abby are best of friends and they love each other very much. This reinforces to us that children and doggies can accomplish amazing things when we keep loving them.
