CBS New York showed this amazing story of survival. A dog falls from the top of a building on the Lower East Side and walks away unharmed!
CBS 2’s Alex Denis has the story you have to see to believe.
“I kind of watched him reach the edge and try to slow himself down but it was too late and he just tumbled over the edge in unimaginable sight,” said the dog owner Emma Heinrich. She witnessed her beloved two-year-old French Bulldog Winston falling from the top of their six-story building after darting up a flight of stairs through an open door and onto the roof.
“It was one of the most terrifying moments that I’ve experienced, it was really really scary, the three seconds between him going over the edge and him making an impact was felt like hours” cried Emma!
The dramatic scene unfolding on Orchard Street Friday night when 30 pound Winston crashed through the sunroof of a parked car. The whole way down kind of trying to prepare herself for the worst, instead Heinrich got the surprise of a lifetime! Winston was just sitting on the driver’s seat, unharmed but heavily panting. He just looking around at everyone staring at him.
Everyone was like in shock and asked, “this your dog?” I was like yeah, I almost couldn’t speak for a minute because I was in shock and awe that he was seemingly so okay.
Heinrich and her husband Danny Collins rush Winston to the hospital. Other than a few stitches cuts on his leg and bruising, Winston’s doing just fine. “We’re counting our blessings and thankful that Winston is not harmed. For sure as for future walks, he’ll be on leash for the rest of his life” said Emma.
A happy ending which brings us to this thought maybe dogs have nine lives too, said Alex Denis CBS 2 News. As for the damage to the car, the dog owners say they will pay to repair the sunroof.
